A Little Bit About Us...

In 1976, Joe Gwizdz Sr purchased Lewis Pools, a local commercial swimming pool construction company, was later asked to join the Aquatech Corporation, a group of elite builders throughout the U.S., and thus began Lewis Aquatech.  At present, his sons Joe and Don own and run Lewis Aquatech.

Jodie Hinman, MLA

Jodie grew up in Southern Louisiana among the bayous and Live Oaks and learned to swim at an early age.  Loving the water was in her genes and her beloved grandfather taught her how to drive his boat before he taught her how to drive his truck.  The swimming pools in the 70s and 80s were white plaster and usually had too much chlorine, but it was not uncommon to spend all day in and out of them.

Education

Jodie graduated from McNeese State University where her undergraduate focus was on the Liberal Arts with much study in history and literature. After college, she developed a passion for gardening and residential architecture and then received her Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture in 2001 from Louisiana State University.  LSU has one of best landscape architecture programs in the country and usually has a pretty good football team.


Experience

Jodie began her career working for a fellow female landscape architect in the spring of 2001 and learned to drive all over Northern Virginia before GPS and smart phones.  To this day, she has not produced a landscape plan that does not have a Crape Myrtle on it.  She fell in love with swimming pool design in 2010, when 3D technology was just beginning.  She began working for Lewis Aquatech in 2018 and still drives all over Northern Virginia.
