Pool Rules - My Blog
1. The swimming pool is the crown jewel of the residential landscape. It is the ultimate water feature.
2. If you build a swimming pool, you will skyrocket to rockstar status in the eye's of your children, your extended family, your co-workers, and your neighbors.
3. Sitting by a pool is always good. Sitting by your own pool is surreal.
4. Building a pool is stressful. Refer back to rules 1, 2, and 3 when you are doubting whether you did the right thing.
5. The sun and fresh air is some of the best therapy known to humankind.
6. These projects are messy and have many moving parts and things WILL happen that are beyond anyone's control. Trust the process. We always finish them and they are always beautiful.
7. Don't forget to remember rule 3.
8. As soon as the water hits your body for the first time, in your own pool, you will be able to add to rules 1, 2, and 3. (email or text me, please)
9. Any surface or material is slippery when wet. No running!

Portfolio Creation
Welcome All! Well, I finally decided to dive in and build a portfolio. It's been a crazy couple of years in the pool business and we have survived, thrived, and helped many families (many of whom have become friends :-) get outside and get swimming! I hope you enjoy looking through this portfolio and you are inspired to continue your journey into swimming pool design and construction! The swimming pool is the crown jewel of the residential landscape and will add beauty, fun, and value to your home for you and your family for years to come.

Portfolio Completion
Well, this has been a labor of love and forced me into a different realm of design (hats off to graphic designers - that's a special skill I don't have alot of, but I tried). Thank you to my sweet sister-in-law, who IS a graphic designer, for a bit of help and thank you always for bringing our boy, Louie, over to visit and play. If you have looked through the photos, you can see that I love the canine clients! That's one of the best parts of my day to day work. Featured below are Louie the Weim and other pups that I dearly love:

Inspiration from the stars
I leafed through a very cool article from a very cool publication, Achitectural Digest, earlier today that is called: 19 Amazing Celebrity Pools from the Pages of AD.
In all honesty, I feel like our "non celebrity" pools in the DC Metro stand up to any market in the country! While many of these featured projects in the article are located in Southern California, there are a couple in Florida, one in New York, and one in New Jersy. My favorites are both located in Mexico and belong to Clooney and Cindy Crawford. Can you guess who is who??
